P.A.L.S Minutes
2-24-01
This meeting was one of the most comfortable, as we all attended in our pajamas. What I mean is that we were in our warm, cozy pajamas, so dont get a visual of chicks in baby dolls. Not that we arent gorgeous. Lisa greeted us at the door in her silkies with a fleece robe. We gratefully thank Rhonda for the idea of wearing jammies; we just wish she couldve been with us to enjoy it. So as we were gathering in comfort, Heidi was trying to bow out. Joan called her and brow beat her into joining us. It didnt take much to convince her she had made the right decision to join us, once she arrived.
The meeting began with club business. The date of the next meeting was confirmed and Joan advised us to wear something green. We should do our best to bring Irish food as well. Joan warned that if the green was not visible, we would have to expose our "unders". Denise wanted to know why Joan would want to punish herself by looking at our tits and ass just because we werent wearing green! It was obvious Denise didnt understand that Joan meant we would have to show that our underwear was green if we didnt have green on the outside. We all got a pretty good laugh about that misunderstanding.
Lisa had quite the varieties of beer, from amber and hoppy, to dark and sweet. One of the varieties was brewed with raisins now THAT was unusual! At one point, we were observing the color and quality of one of the beers. We were remarking how one particular sample was brown and clear. Lisas glass of beer however, appeared a lighter shade, more amber. She attempted to attribute it to the shape and style of her glass. It just didnt seem to make sense, but we all marveled at the difference. A short time later, Lisa realized she had poured herself a sample of a previously rated beer! Wow! Are we with the program (NOT)! At least she came clean about her mistake.
The rating completed, the meeting continued. We had long and large laughs, something we all needed. My notes indicate that at some point I found it important to document that Im Polish. However, I have no Polish in me. Im unsure why that was included in my notes any ideas?
I do recall the later part of the meeting included a discussion of us offering Beer Club Tours. We thought that there might be folks out there who would be interested in touring our Beer Club. Anybody remember how we got started on this? I think its because our club has so much to offer.
Next meeting March 16th, 2001, FRIDAY (Dont forget to wear your green)
HOST JOAN
Lets be ready to plan April. Remember, it is Rhondas beer club at Landmark.
TASTY TIP (from The Complete Idiots
Guide to Beer)
"Ice
-cold beer loses its subtlety of flavor. You may prefer that if youre
drinking bad beer. But if you just laid down $10 for a six-pack of English porter,
you want to serve it properly. This is most important if youre
conducting a formal (or informal) tasting. The average refrigerator keeps food
at about 40 degrees. At this temperature, beer will release less carbonation,
and hence, less aroma. Liquid this cold will stun your taste buds, numbing them.
So serve lighter beers at 45 degrees, darker beers at 50 degrees, and real dark
beers at 55 degrees."
Respectfully submitted,
