P.A.L.S. Meeting
November 17, 2000
Hey P.A.L.S. gals, it was great to all be together again only the 3rd time this year. The evening was a "chatty one" as we all attempted to catch up on whats new. Lets face it were chatty ALL the time! The company was great and the beers were mighty tasty. Some very new and unusual brands were brought to the table for tasting. It just goes to show ya, we are a long way from tasting everything out there! Let us continue to infinity and beyond!! And by the way girls, congratulations is in order. We tasted and rated without too much prodding and forgetting. Good job sticking to the "business".
TERMS OF EMBEERMENT: (Dont worry, be hoppy)
Bitterness describes the distinct flavor that
the alpha acids in hops give beer. These acids also acted as a natural preservative
that kept beer from spoiling in the days before refrigeration. Hops also have
aromatic qualities that give beer a flowery or spicy smell, or bouquet.
Hops grow in different varieties and regions.

Our next gathering will be our 3rd Annual Round Robin, our celebration
of the season which we share with our significant others. We have been able
to plan a date that we can all attend (YEA!!) and it will be held on December
16th. We will begin at 4:30pm and the rotation will be as follows:
JOAN, MARIANA, LISA, DENISE, HEIDI
Remember, you may serve your favorite beer. It does not have to be one
we have rated. As long as you enjoy it and want to share. We can always rate
another time. It is only necessary to have one beer per person. If you feel
you want to serve more beer, make it beer you can afford (you all know what
I mean!).
Cant wait to see you all!
Respectfully submitted,
Mariana
