Cetakan I Juni 1999; tebal 221, Penerbit: Media Pressindo, Yogyakarta (Cetakan II, 2000)

Pengantar: Bakdi Soemanto; Cetakan I Juli 2000; tebal 206 halaman, harga Rp 18.000; Penerbit Media Pressindo, Yogyakarta.

Cetakan I September 2002; Cetakan II April 2003. Penerbit Media Pressindo, Yogyakarta 174 halaman.

Feb. 4, 1993

Dear Comrade Ngarto

How are you now, comrade and friend? I hope everything is fine out there. I received your letter for me last December and I am too apologetic I was not able to answer you the soonest. I am very sorry for this. I was also expecting a letter you when Amante arrived. By the way, did you receive the card I sent you through Amante?

anorchi.JPG (6663 bytes)As Amante had reported here, there was another harassment inflicted by the Suharto gov't on you. It was really horrible and personally, I was too much worried also on the welfare or the comrade. Most of those in the list who were arrested are my friends or whom I know when I went there in your place. Anyway, the student movement (through the physics) of the Phils. is planning to organize a condemnation rally or any sort of solidarity activity on your cause of seeking justice for the comrades who were harassed.

Has Munief surfaced? Amante told me that he was among those tortured? Is this true? I hope we can push through with the condemnation rally. And anything happens, or upon receiving this, I hope that you answer me so I would know the situation of the comrade. Those who are missing.

As of the situation here in the Philippines, I hope Amante have already conveyed to you. There's nothing peculiar anyway from the things he had already told you.

I appreciate too much what you had expressed to me in your letter that though you are far from me, you feel very near because of the basic of unity of ours in our fight against oppressive structures and regimes. I understand too much that we must strengthen or cultivate our friendships, but more anything else, on the basic of our unity on our straggle for our people's welfare. For this, I am too willing to submit myself for kind of solidarity. Definitely, I want our friendship to blossom.

So, what now, I am currently facing difficult problems on my personal life which I am afraid can affect my involvement in the movement. I have problems with my family--that is economic in nature. The family's situation is screaming for help. This is what I currently face. It's very difficult because definitely it won't tear my commitment in to shades. I really hope so.

I think I have to end up. Please do write back. Again, my solidarity a deep sympathy to your cause in seeking justice to our harassed comrade.

Friend and comrade,

Norchi

P.S. Please address your letter to me at Amante's residence.
