Saw lots of interesting stuff: a 'kouros' - fallen statue of a youth, and went up a mountain to a marble quarry. Huge blocks being cut out of the mountain. 8' x 6' x 6' blocks. Must weigh tons! I was running a little behind schedule but got to Sue's bus stop just as she was about to get on the bus. Saved her a couple of drachmas bus fare.

We are leaving tomorrow at 11:50 AM for Santorini. We bought a bouquet of flowers for Madame Loucas and one for Anna. Madame wasn't there to accept hers. She had gone into Athens to be with Dimitri, who had left the previous day for his annual heart check-up. He'd had heart surgery last year. Anna wouldn't accept hers as they had to leave suddenly for Athens as well. She had received a phone call from her neighbours saying that their house in Athens had been broken into and ransacked. Very sad. We left Madame's bouquet at the hotel office, but will take the one we bought for Anna, and give it to Eva in Santorini.
