Journal Day 32

Day 32 - Toronto

Friday, June 13, 1997

Got to the airport in record time during rush hour with a cabbie who spoke no English but drove really fast. Tried to go through the metal detector machine at the airport, and they made Dad open his pack. We thought at first it was our souvlaki skewers, but it was Jeff's knife. Dad had bought Jeff a really cool scabbard style knife. They took it out, unwrapped it, tried to cut with it, questioned Dad. Ended up he had to go back to the ticket office to have it re-wrapped as baggage. They let him keep the skewers though! Kind of incongruous.

Our plane left about 45 minutes latle, but arrived 2 hours early. Go figure. Georgia had phoned to check the arrival time, so was there to pick us up. Came back to her place and told stories all night long. Dad went to bed at 6:00 PM, I lasted till 7:00 (1:00 & 2:00AM I think).
