Day 2 - TorontoMay 14, 1997Up at 7:00 AM (really 5:00 AM Alberta time). Had a nice breakfast and on to the Toronto bus system Robyn had drawn a great map, and we rode the bus, then the subway to beautiful downtown Toronto. The CN Tower was first. We beat the crowds, and got to walk on the "glass floor"! Too scary! Then we turned down a $25.00 Street Car Tour and walked through the Fashion District and Chinatown to Kensington Market. Lunch as an empanada and later a bagel. The bus driver on our bus back to the lake said he knew we were from out of town, so let us get on with a transfer instead of a token. (We'd boarded the wrong bus first and used our tokens) We went down to Queen's Quay and rode the ferry across to Toronto Island. Again, getting onto the ferry, I felt like a real Bohunk! I thought he said "Center Aisle first, then ward. I recommend center" So I thought he meant sit in the center aisle, not for-WARD. Turns out he said Center "Isle" as in island - that's where he recommended we get off, not Ward Island. We found our way home via the "Rocket" Toronto's subway. Georgia pepared a Wonderful lasagna with asparagus and goat cheese. I NEED this recipe!! Lots of wonderful stories and visiting, over another bottle of red...and to bed.
