Day 27 - Chora, Naxos

June 8, 1997

Dad rented a moto (a Peugot) and explored all day. I beached it right here at St. Georges's Beach. Got home 4 minutes before Dad. Had to open my beer on the gate latch, as I hadn't taken a key to get in, and I Needed my beer, Right Now!

Anna is back, so we visited with her for probably 2 hours! She's such a sweetie. Also met our German neighbours and visited with them for quite some time as well.

Checked out the possibility of a day excursion to Amorgos, but it's just not going to work out.

Went to Poseidon for supper. Ordered fish soup and it came with the WHOLE fish in it! Dad had spaghetti. He gave me a taste, but I dropped it in my beer, and it took on a life of its own. Don't know whether it looked more like a worm in tequila, or a swimming squid with tentacles. Dad with Mama Popi Another complimentary ouzo. Oh yeah, on the way to the restaurant we had complimentary retsina at the Red Lion, and Dad had 2 or 3 samples of Raki and something else from the old mama at Popi's.

...the showers are just a raised square lip of marble, but no shower curtain, so invariably there is water all over the bathroom floor after a shower. ....the ceilings in the rooms we've been renting are all 12 foot ceilings... the doors have door knobs but they're just handles, they don't actually open the door.
