Harmony Masonic Lodge No.22 A.F.M. News Letter for month of June, 2005

From the Wor. Master

Greetings Brethren:

I am pleased to announce the raising of our newest Master Mason, James Ramsey. Brother Ramsey was raised on May 10, 2005 with the assistance of the brethren. I believe a fun time was had by all, and look forward to raising our other Fellow crafts in the future.

Grand Lodge was held April 27th, and 28th. Our Lodge was represented by myself as W/M, Bro. Henry Chambers, S/W, and M/Wor. Bro. R.V. Pinkston, PGM.

The business moved fast, and the Banquet on Thursday evening was very nice. Our Lodge was the winner of H. Dwight McAlister Journalism Award for the best Newsletter. A special thanks go to M/Wor. R. V. Pinkston for his hard work and devotion in this area.

The new Lodge officers progressed in line with Rt/Wor Jay A. Pearson elected JGW, M/W Jack A. Marler elected to G/Treasurer, M/W Gilbert Martin was elected G/Treasurer Emeritus by the Craft. Our new DDGM is Rt/Wor Bro. Rickey Smith.

I would like to thank W/Bros. Sonny Gay, and C. F. Weickhardt, for filling in for our J/W Mark Henderson as he is deployed.

Fraternally Yours,

Scott W. Robinson, W/M

Brethren:
Please remeber to support the Lowcountry Blood Center at Wal-Mart. The last one was May 21st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take a friend with you. June/July dates are listed on the second page of your Newletter sent in the mail.

From the Senior Warden

Brethern:

We are at the half way mark of our calendar year. We must work to increase our membership and to increase attendance at degree work. I urge you to do two things that will make a difference.

1. Make an effort to come to lodge meetings yourself.
2. Use the member roster provided you and call a brother to come with you to lodge.

Help us breathe new life into our lodge meetings. Volunteer to help with the degree work, work with the Junior Warden on meals and visitation. We need your support and attendance to get things really rolling at Harmony 22.

I have been attending meetings at the lodges in our 4th Masonic District. I’ll be happy to have you ride with me if you would like to attend them. Great fellowship and good, food with good men. If we visit them, they will visit us.

I look forward to seeing you soon in our lodge.

Fraternally,

Henry C. Chambers, Senior Warden

We still have a few members that owe DUES for 2004. Please check the mailing label to see where you stand. You may want to think about becoming a Perpetual Life Member. Dues are due by Dec. 31 for the following year.
Kevin Ennis, P/M Secretary

From The Junior Warden

Brethren:

As I type I am sitting in Iraq, forward deployed with my civilian job, supporting the US Marines. These Marines and all our men and women in the US Armed Services, are living in Spartan conditions, and are proudly serving our country. They are taking the fight to those who would wish our country, and all who value freedom harm, and at the same time they are doing their best to get the people of Iraq back on their feet to allow them to govern themselves and run Iraq on their own. Keep them all in your daily devotions.

In my travels here in Southwest Asia I have found Masonry alive and well, and our Fraternity truly does bridge the whole world. I stopped briefly in Kuwait and met a brother from Oklahoma who is working as a contractor for the US Air Force. We spoke briefly, and he said he knows of several other members of the craft that are up here in Iraq. Right now I am in the Western part of Iraq, and I am living in the same camp as our own Harmony brother, Ladd Sheppard. He and I were raised together just a few short years ago. He is doing well, is on his third deployment to Iraq, and is serving as the Operations Officer for 2D Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalion. Then yesterday, out of the blue, one of the men on my team of contractors was talking about the movie National Treasure and said he as interested becoming a Mason. We spoke briefly several hours later, and I will be putting him in touch with a lodge in Charleston when we get back. You just never know where Masonry will touch you. Remember, our regular communications are on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Degree work is on the 4th Thursday, dinner is around 7:00pm, and the gavel drops at 7:30. I look forward to seeing each of you in the South, and may God bless each of you, your families in your daily life and work.

Fraternally,

Mark Henderson J/Warden
