  Love is...

Love is...

The flutter you feel inside as your baby moves
Counting tiny fingers and toes
Thinking gas bubbles are smiles
A little ones arms around your neck or leg
Tiny feet pitter patter down the hall to peek around the corner

Tiny hands reaching up for a cookie
Hand drawn pictures of "us" as a family
Sisters reaching for the other's hand
A protective hold to guard one another
Big sister and Munchkin playing dress-up

A wave good-bye as off to school they go
The glee of returning home
Amid shouts and giggles and happy talk
Homework time groaning but done
Supper gatherings with us all together

First crushes and boyfriends
Dates and romance
A young man at the door
A young woman glowing with delight
Perhaps this is the one.

A bride aglow on that special day
A hug from mom, a dance with dad
On to a new life as wife
Prepared for the future
With love to guide her

The flutter felt deep inside
A new life has begun
Sharing this miracle of life
A baby girl fresh and new
Placed in her grandmother's arms
