  Odds and Ends

My child-self loves bubble baths.
To disappear and hide
Building castles out of soap
And beards and ice cream cones
And mountains full of snow

Twisted branches
Reaching for the sky
Bend and turn to touch the sun
Spreading arms
To taste the sweetness
of a spring rain.

The cat
Always alert
Soft and silky
Now gently curled
On my lap.

Here and Gone

Images drawn in the air
Shining like sunlight
Fragile yet present
Strong like a touch
Here and gone

Spring

Green spring, green spring
May it come your way
Winter cannot last for long
Spring is soon too stay

Green grass, green grass
Flowers all in bloom
Soon they'll come right to you
To chase away the gloom.

Cactus

Sundials for a day
Marking out the minutes
Until sunset comes

The Northern Lights
a sight beyond reward
Floats like fire tonight
Touching the stars
Awakening the watcher

Morning mists
Trees at attention
Like soldiers on watch
For day’s beginning
Shrouded in a foggy mist
Waiting for early risers
To start their day

Trees

Natures arms reaching
In supplication to the gods
For needed healing

Lee’s Lines

Here I write my odds and ends
My little gifts for friends
My rhyming words
Are not for birds
To all I make amends

Rules

Rules rules
Just for fools
Write what you feel
To keep it real.

Say, say
What you may
Rules you learn
Just to spurn.
