  Victims

My aunt Suzanne and I were both eleven
both living in the same house
Both used for sex by fathers
and both taken away for safety

The safety that we got was just more abuse
living with a strong-willed man
Who believed he was God’s gift to women
Regardless of relationship or age.

He used us both for his evil games
And made us both believe
He was satisfying our desire
To take the blame off him and put it upon us

But really he was just satisfying himself.
And when caught by mom in the act
placed the blame on children
and claimed himself the innocent victim.

Abusers rarely confess their sins
acted out on innocent children
Caring not whom they hurt
They think they are victim.
