Harmony Masonic Lodge No.22 A.F.M. News Letter for month of January, 2006

From the Wor. Master

Greetings Brethren:

We have a busy year ahead of us. On January 26, we held the Entered Apprentice Degree for three candidates and are investigating two other candidates for membership.

The nationally acclaimed movie “National Treasure” and the release of “The De Vinci Code” in the Spring will bring new focus on Freemasonry and afford us public awareness we haven’t had in many years. I anticipate increased activity in membership petitions as a result of these films.
We hosted the fourth District Instructional Meeting at our lodge hall on January 28th. All officers from the district should have attended. I estimated 70 to 100 masons gathered for Masonic education.
We hold practice sessions at the lodge every Monday evening at 6:00, and my officers have adopted a dress code for the Officers. All Master Masons are welcomed to attend. I hope to begin a third Degree proficiency class starting in June.
Remember to highlight September 14th, 15th and 16th 2006 on your calendar. This will be our 250th Anniversary 1756-2006. We will publish the event schedule for the celebration in February.
I promise my best efforts as Worshipful Master. With your help we will have a banner year in Freemasonry .

Henery C. Chambers,

Worshipful Master

From the Senior Warden

Dear Brethern,

I am honored and humbled as I assume the duties as your Senior Warden for 2006. We are headed toward the celebration of our Lodge’s 250th year, and our Worshipful Master, Brother Henry Chambers is the right man to lead us for such a momentous event. Stay tuned for articles in the paper about Harmony Lodge, and make plan now for September. It has the makings for a grand party indeed.
We have degree work planned for al three degrees n the early months of this year. Our attendance is us (We had almost 40 at our last regular communication for elections), our Lodge membership is growing with newly made Brothers, and there are several more petitions being worked on by investigating committees. I keep saying it, but coming to watch, or assist with degree work is a fantastic way to come back to Lodge and dust off those cobwebs if you feel a little rusty. You’ll get back into the swing of things in no time. If you just want to come watch, that’s okay too. We’d be happy just to have you sitting beside us. The food has been outstanding for the past year, and it is not uncommon to have some of Steve Brown’s fixin’s on the table. Come and enjoy a good meal, and stay for the fellowship.
I hope that everyone has a most wonderful Christmas season, and that the blessings of the Lord ma be upon you and yours, especially those of health, happiness, and prosperity in the New Year.
As usual, I’d like to see all of you sitting in the South in 2006, and if you come to a regular communication or degree work, bring another Brother with you to share in the experience. Remember, our regular communications are on the 2nd Thursday of the month, and degree work is planned for the 4th Thursday. Dinner for both occasions is around 7:00 pm, and the gavel drops at 7:30, I look forward to seeing each of you in the South, and may God bless each of you, and your families in your daily life and work

Fraternally,

Mark Henderson, Senior Warden

From the Junior Warden

Brethren:

We have started out the year very busy. By the time you read this newsletter, We will have had an entered apprentice degree with three candidates.

There was a Fourth Masonic District Instructional meeting on Jan 28, 2006 hosted by harmony Lodge No 22.
Worshipful Brother Chambers has a practice for degree work each Monday @ 6 PM at the Lodge. With diligent study this will make the degree work exciting.
At the last business meeting Worshipful Brother Chambers distributed copies of the by-laws of Harmony Lodge #22 AFM as few members had never even seen them much less read them. These By-Laws were updated and approved in 2002.

From AHIMAN REZON;

Article 158. No additions, alterations or amendments, can be made to the By-Laws of any Lodge, unless first presented in writing to the Chair, then read at three stated communications, and approved by three-fourths of the members present, nor can a Lodge suspend any of its By-Laws even by unanimous consent. (See Article 91.)

I will close by writing: Bring yourself and a Brother to Lodge we need your help However small p>

Fraternally,

Charles F. Weickhardt, P/M
