I rate my bootlegs like this:

• Excellent. Should be clear.
• Good. A little less of course.
• Fair to good. This is good quality but there distractions. There could be pops, or a slight flanging quality to the sound. For some reason it's always the audience thats suffers from this. The music is usually good
• Fair. Most boots are in this range. If you are looking for quality boots this should be the borderline. Then again, some of my favorite shows are in this range.
• Poor to fair. The soundquality is now so so, but there is still something in this recording that saves the show. The band could be seriously rockin' or the audience could be really into it.
• Poor. Now we are getting into the serious collectors range. Completist only!
• Bad. Even the most diehard collector should have second thoughts about this one. A recording of this level should be dumped in the ocean next to the nuclear waste and better be forgotten.
