P.A.L.S. 6th Annual Round Robin
December 13, 2003
The evening was spent with good friends making merry and revelry. There was also abundant gifting and celebration of the Christmas spirit. A great gift it is to spend time and laughter with special people like you all. We must count our blessings.
While we had a timekeeper, we were tardy leaving the first house, Joans, by about 20 minutes. Perhaps we were late because the timekeeper left and we decided to split ONE LAST BEER, I think it was a Hazelnut Brown - quite tasty as I recall. The timing thing got worse at Heidis house, with us leaving her place close to 45 minutes late. While there, the plans for the calendar were discussed once again. Whenever Rick is around, you know the topic will come up. While we felt comfortable with the idea of Rick doing the photography, he suggested we get a professional. Do we know anyone who could do it CHEAP that is, for a CHEAP thrill?! We also warmed up with some red soup and dancing before departing. At least we ALL made it to the last house, Jans. There we settled in to bask in the glow of food and drink and the guys got to play some billiards. We finished up the night sampling cheesecakes!
It was a funtastic evening and we ended before we needed to pull out the sleeping bags. Thank God we all got home safe and sound. Thanks to the hosts for warm welcomes into your festive homes!
We did not discuss the January meeting, but an idea has blossomed and we just need to plan a date. Lets plan to go see the movie "Calendar Girls" together ("to get inspiration" as Rick put it) and stop after at Landmark or someplace, for a few. Then we can put our calendars together to plan the next few months. By the way, the Real Ale Fest is on hiatus for this year there was trouble getting the place to have it. So the Feb/March field trip to Chicago is off. Any other ideas? Lets hear it! Please call me or email to let me know when you could do the movie. Friday nights are a possibility, as are Sunday matinees if yall are up for it. Please CALL! Lets PLAN!!
Respectfully submitted,
Mariana
