P.A.L.S. Meeting
3- 6 -04
Present: Lisa, Denise, Heidi, Jan and Mariana
This first 2004 meeting of beer club was somewhat subdued as we worked ourselves into the routine. It seems so long since we rated!! We required reminding often! Jans home was festive in preparation for St. Patricks Day. She provided us with green beads and mint green chocolate pie to celebrate our March birthday girls (Heidi and Joan) and the popular St. Pattys Day. Unfortunately Joan was unable to attend due to sad circumstances. We toasted her and sent our love, in spirit. The beer samples were also spirited and festive. We enjoyed the variety and Jan was pleased to announce they were "just in, fresh off the truck" varieties.
Heidi and Jan shared pictures of their Mexican vacation, which looked like a dream vacation, and made us all envious of sandy beaches, warm breezes, and clear blue water not to mention plenty of yummy drinks!
Lisa requested a change in the rotation to have the meeting at her house next as she would like to brew beer again. The chess club will be meeting and the "brewmaster" will be available to assist us. We also discussed the South Milwaukee "Beers Around the World" event which is coming up in April. We all agreed wed like to be servers again, so will check into that. That date is April 24th.
Next meeting: April 17th, 2004, at 6:00
HOST LISA
Respectfully submitted,
Mariana
Beer tidbit:
Eisbock is made by removing ice after freezing the beer (eis is "ice" in German).
Because water freezes long before alcohol does, removing the ice concentrates the alcohol and therefore increases the beers strength and flavor.
