First day in Japan

Page 1

Here are some pictures of our first day in Japan. We are staying with Yoshiko's family in Fuchu-shi, a suburb of Tokyo. We had to take three different trains from Narita airport to get here (a two and one half hour trip). But once here we are treated very well.

Between 6 and 7 am, before breakfast we take a walk twice around the park. Here is Michie, Yoshiko, and Masako (three sisters). Steve is taking the picture. Father (oto-san) took his walk at 5 am

When we get back Michie prepares freshly ground coffee (Kona coffee) for us. This is almost a daily ritual using the old fashion hand operated coffee mill

Here are the three sisters enjoying their morning coffee. Breakfast consists of rice and miso soup with various condiments.

After breakfast the family looks at some of Yoshiko's art work that is displayed on the internet.

No one in the family has a computer so this is their first opportunity to see the internet pictures.

There are 1000 pictures to look at so we stop after the first 100. We will look at 100 each day. After all, we also have all of our family and travel pictures to look at too.
