Fifteenth day in Japan

Mt. Takao

On Mt. Takao there is a temple called Yakuoin Temple.

This is a cleaning jizo. He has a broom for sweeping the temple grounds.

Here is a sitting jizo. He is holding a shakujo (right hand) and a medicine jar (left hand.)

These stones contain peoples prayers and wishes on them.

This wall contains the names of people who have made significant contributions to the temple.

This monk is holding a shakujo and jar.

Here is a very large shakujo. We could turn it to make the rings go clang.
