Cultural Heritage Day - Taikos

Today is our last full day in Japan. It is a national holiday today - Cultural Heritage Day.
At the nearby theater there were various musical performances. Outdoors was a Taiko performance. Here are some pictures of it.

The group was compized of about 15 members with the seven drums shown in the photos. Each of the larger drums had a player on both ends. About half the members were male and, of course, the rest female.

They reallyget into it. Note the player's stance.

These two members are playing the shakujo (jingle, jingle)
