Twelfth day in Japan

Rest Day

Today we stayed home for a day of rest. At the nearby department store where Michie works there was a food festival. We went over ther to sample fish, vegetables, pickles, crackers, sake, beer, milk, etc.

Here is Michie offering us some nice senbei (rice crackers). You may notice, too, that she is blushing. She was embarrased to have us there taking her picture at work.

Three sisters

At home Michie does fine needle work.. The material is fine Japanese silk

Here is some detail of the floral patern she is working on now.

Michie uses a special glass pen with a very fine point to draw the pattern on the material

The finished work should look quite nice,
