Went and paid some more off our wedding cake this morning. The lady doesn't know what is going to happen with the prices once the GST comes in. Aren't they meant to work it out themselves??? Decided to write to our other suppliers for the wedding to check out what's happening with the GST. Will our quoted prices go up, or what? We have to budget for it whatever the cost, and it would be niceknowing how much we have to budget for! Sent cheques to florist and limo places to pay more off them. I'd rather not leave it all until the last minute. I'm stressed enough at times as it is. |

It's raining again today. Will this rain never stop? Makes it hard to keep a cheery outlook on life. Tried i-do chat last night (a regular Tuesday night thing) and we got hackers in there who kept kicking us out. Hope Lisa solves the problem soon, or creates a private chat room for us, so we don't keep getting all these drop-ins! Makes it hard to have a serious discussion on weddings. No jobs in the paper today. *sigh* Makes it hard saving for a wedding and a house (which we can't affford on just Ray's income) when you don't get called up for casual work that often, and you're not qualified to do much else but teaching. Hope the business starts taking off soon...our ad in bride-to-be magazine comes out in the Winter issue, which won't be till May I guess. And Ray is busily writing his book. |

Ray came over this evening and we practised our dancing for a while. He seems to do much better when it's just us than we we're at lessons. We don't mind if we make a mistake..we can laugh it off. |

We decided to cancel our dancing lesson for this evening. It's costing us $50 each time, and we're not getting any practise in between lessons. So he's not giving us more to do really, and all we want is a routine we can practise and work on at home. We 'll book another one in a month or two when we've had time to perfect what we've learnt so far. |

The Falcon went in to get the cruise control repaired today...but as the guy on the service desk wasn't listening (more interested in leaving at 12) they didn't find the fault. GRRRRRR! Went looking in Harvey Norman at prices and models of furniture and eletrical goods. |

Ray and I decided for me to try another career for the moment, seeing as I'm not getting any casual teaching at the moment, and we'll need two incomes if we're going to purchase a house. So we rewrote my resume for a clerical/receptionist type position. I'll still keep my name on the Dept list for a full-time position but will inactivate it. That way I'll get near the top of the list in a few years, but they won't offer me a position which I'll have to turn down and get moved to the bottom of the list again. No wonder so many teaching graduates don't end up teaching. You spend 3 to 4 years getting a degree and then can't get a full-time job for another 5, unless you're lucky enough to get a graduate position. Went to dinner at Carolyn's tonight. |
