GST came into effect in Australia today.
And I had my hair trial at Hair Shoppe, as well as Anita. Jo popped in as well to meet her companion in this big event.
My style worked out well. I felt rather strange sitting there with this tiara in my hair and curls piled up against it. But it looked great.
Anita's hair decided to not take hold to curling; but all was not lost. At least we learnt that, ready for the big day, and as they're having barrel curls it won't matter too much anyway!
I bought little clips on Thursday night for the bridesmaids to wear in their hair. Blue beads in varying tones and a dark blue rose in the centre. They went well on the side, and Anita suggested we do the quilting stitching on the dresses in a light blue as well, to match the clips.

Cut out the two bridesmaid dresses today. Now I know why they charge so much for them. Chiffon is a pain to cut!!! It just won't stay still, and moves at the slightest touch.

Took Josephine to Penrith today to look for shoes and jewellery options. Jo is shocked at how much shoes cost, but found a silver pair she likes for $30. I think they may be a bit high for Anita though, so they may end up with different shoes, but who will notice?
Bought 2 calico bears in Spotlight to make up as signature bears for the wedding. Much cheaper than buying them already done up for the  wedding!
Had meeting with Deacon Bob this evening, and signed all 3 forms. Feels more official with that done! We were also loaned a book that helps us pick out readings and prayers for the ceremony. Deacon Bob is such a nice old guy! Very much like Fr McNamara.

3 months to go!!!
Getting rather stressed right now. Ray's parents arrived home a day early and other things have arisen that are bugging us.
I wish the whole thing was over, so we could get on with our lives and not have to worry about offending people.

10th July, 2000

Have finished about 3/4 of the first bridesmaid dress and the are looking far better than I imagined they would!!! Can't wait to see my bridesmaids in them...then I can take a photo for this webpage, so all the girls back at i-do can see what I've been talking about for the past few months.
Also bought makings for the bridesmaids gifts; decoupage boxes.

Another bridesmaid bites the dust. Jo can't do it due to financial circumstances. Oh well :-(
Life goes on.
We're getting Ray's niece, Michelle, to stand in as another bridesmaid.
Booked to see florist again tomorrow about the reception arrangements around our floating candle bowls...hope it doesn't cost too much extra on what the club gives her ;-) Will also change the bouquet colours, seeing as we're now going with a royal blue dress.

13th July, 2000

Marilyn can do the floating candle bowls the way we want, and it won't be too much extra.
