My Wedding Journal

We printed up our invitations this weekend, after we decided on the wording last week. The A4 paper we had bought turned out to be thin card, and only had 10 in a packet, not 25. We ended up about 9 short, so we had quick dash back to the markets this afternoon to pick up some more.
We bought some decorative punches last weekend, and used those on the top and bottom and the corners. Boy it was tough punching through the cardboard. Ray worked on the border one, and I had the cherub on the corners. Of course he finished before me.
Then, it decided it had had enough, and the punch broke!!!
I was ready to burst into tears at that point.
Went and showed Ray what had happened, and he said we can go get another next weekend to finish the rest off.
They look so nice, and are really simple, but still look formal, which is what I wanted. We also got the RSVP slips printed out and I have the quotes ready to put on the placecards. But I can't do those till we start getting RSVPs!

Hmmm. It's not often you get to write that date!
Have been busy getting this journal back on the web today, and chatting with the i-do girls.
We sold our first book last weekend. Was so exciting! I hope they like it.
Ray's dad went into hospital today for his operation tomorrow.

1st March

Put my car in for a service today and to get a pink slip. I wasn't expecting it, but it turned out she needed a MAJOR service plus the timing belt replaced. Luckily I've been putting money aside for rego and the such since late last year, so I did have enough to cover.
Still is a lot though, when I want to start paying more things off for the wedding.
John (Ray's dad) had his operation today. Ray had to take his mum to the hospital after work today, so he won't be calling me till 8.30pm.  He has promised to come up and visit tomorrow night though!
I'm organising a shoppping spree in Parramatta for girls in Sydney area who can make it on the 18th March. Have a few replies so far. Hope we get more coming. What will the shopkeepers think with a horde (or would it be called a flock) of brides descending on them?

3rd March, 2000

This evening we were supposed to have our first dancing lesson. But it was not to be!
We eventually found the dance studio, and went upstairs. But we couldn't find anyone or anything to give us directions. We could hear a private lesson being given in one room, and there were a whole group of people talking in the other. We didn't know what to do!
One girl came out of the room, went into the other and then came back again; not asking us why we looked lost. So after 10 minutes I was too upset and angry, so we left.
Plus the new shoes I'd put on to try out dancing had worn a blood blister on me heel and my foot was hurting like anything. We went and got dinner and ate in a park, so I could calm down.
After all the hassels it took me to find that place to teach us, I'd had enough. And burst into tears on Ray when we got back to his place. I sure am getting stressed lately!
Raymond offered to look for another place to teach us on Monday, which is really sweet of him, seeing as he wasn't too keen on the idea of dancing lessons to begin with.
