Picnic at Suzie's today. Was great catching up with family, although Raymond was getting a little bored after 4 hours as he had nothing to say. Even saw Great Uncle Brian and his wife Marlene who were down to see Nana.

25th April, 2000

First ANZAC day Ray has stayed home in years. We spent a quiet day at home.
Found a picture of a dress which is very similar to the one we want for the Bridesmaids. It is at Calabro Hire. There is one in Parramatta Westfields and also at Wetherill Park on Toohey Rd, which is near where we got the hoopskirt. Will have a look at that place in the next week or so, to see if it's suitable and the price is right. Then we won't have to worry about a dressmaker if we can buy or rent it cheaply!

Took mum out with me today to look at the shops in Wetherill Park. The one similar to the indigo one was the only one left in stock in NSW and QLD stores, and was $180. Even the hire shops wanted $120 for a dress to hire.
We stopped by Nana's and then went to Spotlight, where we bought the pattern Anita and I had found earlier. At home I scanned the bodice pieces on the computer and printed them so I could see if I could adjust it to the one we had wanted from Harts. Roughed up a bodice in calico, and it seems easy enough to do ourselves, or with the help of my aunt Susie who's had experience in dressmakers (mother keeping secrets from me...tch, tch!)

Went to the i-do picnic in Sydney Botanical Gardens today. Was nice meeting some new people, although I've been chatting to them on the net for months. And we had beautiful sunny weather to discuss wedding plans.
Got to show Anita the mock-up of the dress bodice and our
wedding planning book we've written.

1st May, 2000

Got a call from my next door neighbour today. Her school is desperate for a casual and she wondered if I was busy. She put me onto the principal, and I've ended up with a block of work at Bert Oldfield Public School for the year on a 4/5/6 class of 20 students.
Looking forward to it more than the block at Seven Hills West, and don't feel nervous about it all. So I had to pakc some thing and move down to Raymond's for during the week, as it's closer than battling the traffic from Bowen Mountain.

2nd May, 2000

First day at the new school. My kids are wonderful. I will enjoy working here, plus the money it will bring in that will help pay off the rest of the wedding. We need to pay some more things off soon.
Went to indoor cricket with Ray tonight. I found it boring to watch, but at least I've shown an interest in what he's doing.
Was also Ray's birthday and Anita's birthday today. Happy Birthday!!!

5th May, 2000

Came back up to mum and dad's tonight, and updated them on how school has been.

6th May, 2000

We went to the Hawkesbury Show today (mainly for the showbags). Entered a competition with Nutrimetics and Tupperware. Every little bit towards the wedding or our house helps. I'm thinking of hosting a Tupperware party after the wedding, if we need some more containers.
