Went in with dad to NRMA today and insured the engagement ring under mum and dad's home and contents policy. It is now covered anywhere in Australia. I can rest more at east noe, as it will be covered if, God forbid, I lose a diamond, or even worse, it gets stolen. I think Ray is a bit more relaxed now that it is covered as well!

Paid more on my wedding dress today. Then we went to look at Travel agents in the start of our honeymoon search. Found a Queensland travel agent and they gave us some helpful brochures. The Whitsundays is looking good, but we want something where everything is covered. Don't want to have to fork out for meals that aren't supplied.

Raymond's grandfather has been very sick this past week. His mother's sisters have been calling up every night to check up on the latest news.
Rhonda, mother of one of my little brother's friends, brought her new baby girl into work at Grose View school today. She was so tiny and adorable. Ray says I'm clucky!
Doing the Pre-Marriage Course at St Matthew's this weekend. I'm a bit anxious about it. If it's like Marriage Encounter (which mum and dad have done before) you write down your feelings about marriage issues and discuss them with your partner, seeing if they differ. I don't want to share personal things with complete strangers...it's none of their business!

Pre-Marriage Course:
Ray and I attended the Engage Encounter weekend, and it was beneficial. I would recommend it to anyone planning on getting married. It made you think a lot about the future, what your feelings were on different issues, etc.
Raymond and I feel a lot closer after it, even though the Saturday had been draining, being from 9am to 9pm. Met a lot of lovely couples, and Father McNamara is great! We seemed to be the only couple doing the course so far in advance though. We couldn't see any reason in delaying it...you have to do the course to get married in that church. And we had the time now to do it...why wait till next year when we're busy with last minute plans!
I'm confident now that our marriage will make it, not matter what happens!!!

Had a Le Reve perfume party tonight. Was fun smelling all the different ones, and trying some out. I bought two for me, and an aftershave for Ray cheaper than you can get at a store.

Ray and his parents took me in to see his grandfather, Clyde, today. He wasn't well at all, and wasn't responding. Ray was very upset to see him like that and doesn't want to go in and see him anymore like that. One of his aunts, Hazel, came down and stayed overnight.

15th August, 1999

Clyde passed away this evening. Ray's parents, aunt and uncle had been up to see him several times in the day, and he had been a lot better than yesterday. Alert and recognised his daughters. But 40 minutes after they came home to have dinner we got the phone call. Ray and I spent the evening looking after dinner for everyone and comforting as we could. The funeral will be Monday week up in Oberon.

19th August, 1999

Was mum and dad's 27th anniversary today. Ray met us for dinner at the Black Stump.
