Continued: Vanessa asked me what colours I normally wear and the colours of the dresses for myself and the girls. Then she did my face up accordingly, and the girls played around with the make-up palettes and had a ball. Jo had a wonderful time experimenting and discussing with Lavinia, and she hadn't wanted to come along in the first place. I let them pick the colours that would suit them. Vanessa used a lighter lipstick on me than I'm used, but everyone said it looked good, so I bought one to get used to seeing on my face, as well as making sure Raymond would like it. I did ask her to put more on my eyes, as they are large and I really want them to stand out on the day. After all, Ray's nickname for me is Bright Eyes! I really liked the colours she used for my eyes. I'm thinking of buying each of the products she used, bit by bit, over the time to the wedding, so I'll have them on hand for any touch ups needed. I thought it looked great, and the make-up on the girls was ok too, so I booked Vanessa straight away. I don't want to go through hundreds of make-up artists, especially when I'm quite pleased with the results Vanessa gave. Nutrimetics is great for wedding makeovers in my opinion, and their trial is free, as someone usually ends up buying somthing at the party (she sold 3 lipsticks at mine). Plus she booked another free trial with Lavinia, sho wants a trial for her own wedding, which has now been moved to the last Saturday in June next year. Lavinia's mum, who is a big Nutrimetics fan is going to be there as well, so she should make a bit at that as well. As her chief bridesmaid, I'll be there and might buy the next product I want to try. |

We picked up our wedding rings today. Finally! Was so strange holding a band that in less than a years time I'll be wearing everyday for the rest of my life. Ray tried his on, just to make sure it fitted. They hadn't had one in his size when we picked them out, and it did look good on him. Showed them to his parents and then put them in the safe until we decide what to get engraved on them. |

Ray and I went and paid more off my dress today. Asked the lady who served me what kind of hoop skirt I wear under my dress, but she wouldn't give me a straight answer. I think they really want you to hire the ones they have, but that is not suitable for me. Went into Lyncraft while we were in Parramatta to see if we could find a frame for my dragon cross-stitch and the one for Lavinia's wedding present. Would you believe they didn't have a single frame! Went to Wetherill Park to the Bridal Factory, as it had been recommended that we could buy a hoopskirt cheaply there. Went in, and it was the first bridal showroom I've been in where you had to take your shoes off before you could go in. Waited around a bit to get served, and showed Ray exactly what I was talking about (he of course had no idea really about what a hoopskirt was). Asked the sales assistant about the cost and showed her the style of my dress from several modelled on the floor. She said I'd need a 2 wire, 6 layer hoop and that it would cost $165. Was a bit more that I had hoped for, but still works out to be cheaper than hiring it from Park Avenue twice. I want to wear my wedding gown more than once, and don't want to go into Parramatta the day beforehand...I want the dress home at least by the week before the wedding, and won't be able try it on without a hoopskirt. It will be in by February, in time for the arrival of my dress fom America and my first fitting. Only drawback is I'll have to take in in with me to each fitting, but that is somthing I won't mind. Oh I can't wait for my dress to come in! |
