The dress saga continues
We had lunch downstairs and then wandered upstairs. Purely by chance we discovered a bridal shop, Park Avenue. Wary from the morning's incident, we went in.
They were so helpful, asking us what we were looking for, giving suggestions to try on strapless dresses as well as they can be made halter-neck, and giving me as much time as I needed to try the dresses on. I tried on two; a white strapless and an ivory halter-neck. The halter-neck won, and I tried it on again, while the shop lady put a veil on me and some fake flowers in my arms to see the full effect. I was stunned....I have never looked so nice! It finally hit me that I am actually getting married!!!
Plus they had a policy where you can put $20 down on a dress (fully refundable if you change your mind) to have a month to decide on it. I thought that was so great, as I love the dress but want mum to see it before I make my final decision.
I feel sorry for the sales lady in Cairns though. If I get this dress I will spending $400 more than I would have at her shop, plus got much better service!
Raymond arrived and we showed him the ring. He liked the look of it as well. Then we showed him the green dresses and bridal gown (on the hanger of course!)

Went into Parramatta today and Ray put a deposit on the ring I found. I get to have it!! Will be able to pick it up in 3 months time. Everyone knows about engagement now.

Ray paid off the engagement ring today and presented it to me. Everyone loves it.
I'm still not used to wearing something on that finger. And it is so sparkly!!!

Took mum and dad in to see the dress this morning. They had been a bit shocked at the price, but when they saw it on, they approved of it. Put a deposit on it. On the way to owning my wedding dress and veil. So much more to organise! Raymond's 27th birthday tomorrow. I have bought him some of my favourite aftershave...Kouros.

4th May, 1999

Have started making an engagement/wedding present list as people have been asking us what we need. Going to look at Grace Bros this weekend and check out information about their registry.

Met Josephine, Mark, Lavinia and Micheal in Parramatta today. Showed Jo the dresses and she liked them as well.

Got my 4 wisdom teeth taken out today. Ray picked me up after the surgery and is going to look after me at his place for the week I have to take off. So sweet and caring, my Raymond!

We attended the wedding this weekend of one of the girls I went to school with, but haven't had much to do with since leaving school. Very poorly prepared wedding, and my friends and I seemed to be the only young people there that weren't relatives or part of the bridal party. The DJ was pathetic, so Ray and I are so much more appreciative of our friend Glenn who will hopefully be our DJ/MC for our wedding. He at least plays music you can dance to!
Went with Lavinia and got a quote from a florist in Richmond for both our weddings. I think I want very colourful bouquets, as the dresses are green and that might brighten things up.
