We picked up my veil today from Parramatta. I've been told to hang it the wardrobe from a hanger so it won't get creased. We got my ring cleaned for free at the shop we bought it from. Updated our gift registry as we sent out the interstate invitations last weekend. We tried looking for bridesmaid gifts, but still couldn't find anything that would satisfy me...plus I was feeling sick from the cold I have.
Next we had a meeting with Sandra at the Richmond Club about the reception. We selected our menu and the serviette colours will be a dark blue, to show up against the white of the tablecloths. We told her we'll be using their DJ but a friend of ours, Pete Graham from 2WS, will be our MC for the night. She gave us a plan showing seating in the double room we have booked, and list to put music on.
We asked about the floating candle arrangements we want, and found out we'd have to supply the bowls ourselves, as the club only has bowls for flowers only or candlelabras, which we didn't think much of. Plus they only pay the florist so much, so if it costs more to do a ring for around the bowls than they provide, we have to cough up the extra!
We were also told that GST would be added to our price, even though we'd been told by them last year when we specifically asked about it, that no, GST wouldn't be added, they would cover any costs incurred if it came in. Not impressed by that at all!!!
So we went to the Reject shop on the way home and bought 12 sets of floating candle sets that come complete with bowls, 4 candles and coloured pebbles to put in the bottom. I don't know what we'll do with 12 bowls afterwards, but I much prefer the look of the floating candle arrangements than other centrepieces I've seen! There's another cost we had been hoping we wouldn't have to pay (you'd think the club could have bought the bowls for us, or from us, and use with other weddings!). Hey, maybe we can hire them out afterwards ;-)
Another big bit of news today, was that my cousin Kristie had a baby girl at 3am today, and her boyfriend, Andy proposed to her afterwards! What lovely news.
Congratulations guys, on both accounts!!! |

Had my third make-up trial today, and it turned out perfectly. The lady's name was Vicky and she was so much more professional than the other ones had been so far. She took the shine off my face for the photos, but still was light enough to look like *me*. Got Ray, mum and dad to give their opinion on it. Dad said it wouldn't suit him ;-) So now that's settled! Hair trial next weekend. |
