Flying
"Fylamarid cannot be blocked by blue creatures.
U: Target creature is blue until end of turn."
A brief rundown of the card:
Fylamarid should also be read as "1/3 flying, x: fylamarid is unblockable, where x is equal to the amount of flying creatures defending opponent controls." That sounds a little more tempting, doesn't it--but that's exactly what this squid does. Heck, Phantom Warrior isn't too much different, and he doesn't make cards pretty colors. Besides all of the awesome enchantments you could pile on any unblockable creature (and there are many), there are a few reasons just to turn stuff blue--here are my favorites:
This rude card from The Dark deals one damage to an opponent every turn for every card they have of a chosen color. Fylamarid has enough ink to coat an entire army of creatures if you got enough mana. Never thought of the squid's ability as direct damage, did you? Simply choose blue when you cast the allergy, and squirt away.
4 Fylamarid's are almost a must in any COP Blue deck (and you all have COP Blue decks if you read my articles everyday, don't you?) Really, this does kick butt for defense--two mana to prevent any creature's damage--pretty good, and funny too. I hear Cosmic Horror looks ravishing in blue. A blue Battering Ram is a sight to behold.
Blue creatures cannot block creatures you control while Heat Wave is in play. I guess once once the Fylamarid gets gooey ink all over creatures left out in a Heat Wave, the ink gets sticky and the creatures don't feel like blocking. What a mess.
While Magnetic Mountain is around, blue creatures do not untap during their controllers' untap phase--it'll cost 4 mana during thier upkeep for each blue creature they wish to untap. Ouch! That'll slow down any creature deck for at least 3-4 turns in most situations. Must be metallic ink in the Fylamarid.
Riptide taps all blue creatures at the speed of an instant for just one blue mana. Clear the way for your attackers or save yourself from at least one good attack with Riptide and Fylamarid.
These two cards were made for each other. Sea Troll can regenerate, only if the creature it faces is blue. I can envision this fearcesome duo fighting side by side. The mighty Fylamarid gracefully circling the air, waiting for an enemy creature to approach his comrade-in-arms on the ground, Sea Troll. Once the duo locates an enemy, the Fylamarid dives swifty down upon the unsuspecting critter, and dumps a few gallons of squid ink all over it. The sneaky Sea Troll would then realize this is his chance, and goes in for the kill. I fear the Sea Troll secretly would envision the Fylamarid on a bun with tartar suace though. "Me likes kraken".

I would like to thank the following people for helping me out by sending me some of my lost files. These people all helped motivate me into continuing the Card of the Day. The site is under some construction, some of the archived cards don't work yet. Sorry. Read story below Card of Day review for more info (and maybe you can help too.)
