Remember to hit reload every day or else the new card may not load!

Check out my handy-dandy archive list organizer! You can find this table at the top of the list that is sorted by color, and at the very bottom of the page. The color list is cleaned up fairly well, and partially alphabetized already. As far as I know, there aren't any bugs, but I haven't tested every aspect yet. I also have the list sorted by date just where it was before. I plan on keeping it for ever in addition to the nice color/alpha sorted lists. I disposed of all temporary dead links for a little whlie. I marked files on the color list that have been updated within a week with the words NEW!. Chris

Balduvian Hydra

Ice Age Rare
XRR Summon Hydra

0/1
"When Balduvian Hydra comes into play, put X +1/+0 counters on it.
0: Remove a +1/+0 counter from Balduvian Hydra to prevent 1 damage to Balduvian Hydra.
RRR: Put a +1/+0 counter on Balduvian Hydra. Use this ability only during your upkeep.

Yeah! Break out the fun big red creatures and pray your opponent isn't using cheap creature removal. Balduvian Hydra and it's similar out-of-print companion Rock Hydra are some very fun creatures to play with (unfortunatly, way too many people have forgotten what "fun" Magic is.) Mana for mana, you probably are better off with Shivan Dragon or Serendib Efreet, but I sure have won many a game with my hydras. Any creature that has "unlimited" growth potential by itself is cool--let alone one that is only dependant on your spare mana supply. Witiigo and Phyrexian Marauder have "unlimited" potential too, but the hydras are significantly easier to inflate in most situations. Sure, I've had Prodigal Sorcerers and Psionic Entities wreak havoc on my beefy hydras a few times, but there are those times when you can pump Balduvian Hydra up to over 10 counters in the fifth or sixth turn with some help. Balduvian Hydra is better and worse than Rock Hydra in a few ways---you pull counters off of Balduvian Hydra to prevent damage, and you almost always must because it is a 0/1 creature, while Rock Hydra gets +1/+1 counters and looses one for each damage taken. There is a difference. Having to put extra heads on only during your upkeep is a nuisance, yet I got used to it. Let's look at some of the combos I've used to help unleash a mighty Balduvian Hydra upon my foes:
