Along the upper ranks of cool and cheap white creatures such as White Knight and Savannah Lions would have to be listed Hipparion. 1/3 for 1W? That's huge! Really, it is! So what if you can't assign it to block something that would normally kill it unless you pay one mana? That's nothing. Compared to the downsides of some other abnormally huge-for-their-cost creatures, Hipparion is one of the best deals around. Hipparion can be a dual role card. Either it is a great defender without any help, or it can be easily pumped up to be as good as any wall or an irritating attacker that can't be killed.
