Old Hermit Druid can be used to your advantage 4 different ways. The first (and worst) is as a fearsome attacker/blocker. Even though Hermit Druid is better than Ichneumon Druid in this department, that's like drinking transmission fluid instead of battery acid. On the other hand, Hermit Druid can be great to 2. fill up your hand, hopefully allowing you to 3. put many lands into play. You can also use Hermit Druid to 4. fill up your graveyard with almost unparalled speed. If you only put a small handfull of basic lands in your deck, you can have this crotchety coot burn through half your deck in one turn.
